A cheeky little tweet from Hello Games boss Sean Murray seems to hint that the developer's next game, Light No Fire, will put in an appearance during Summer Game Fest. Quoting a post from event host and organiser Geoff Keighley, in which the hype master writes "I love watching new video game trailers", Murray responds with "just as well".
In case you've forgotten, Light No Fire is an an open world multiplayer survival RPG from the team that brought us No Man's Sky. The twist is that this next project takes place on just one planet, and there's a medieval fantasy edge to the whole thing.
Light No Fire was first shown during Keighley's previous event, The Game Awards, back in December — but we've seen nothing of the title since. This supposed return could be a big deal, then.

I do love how Sean being a cheeky little gobshite gives me the warm fuzzies! Cannot wait to see more of Light no Fire, hopefully they go early access soon after.
Can i suggest Sean, dont over promise and take half a decade to deliver this time 🙂
I will probably get this day one, surely they have learnt from past mistakes. Also this seems less ambitious than NMS was so should be easier for them to fine tune.
It seems like it's just one massive planet but shared with others? If so I wonder if there's still randomly generated parts to the game or is it just one well crafted world that's the same for everyone.
Still not ruling out that they got bought by Microsoft
Can’t wait for Summer Games Fest, so I can find out if I buy anything in the second half of the year! Lol. Seriously, there’s basically 3 games releasing after June right now and two of them are Ubisoft.
This is the main reason I haven't bought Enshrouded yet. I REALLY like what Hello Games does, their ambition, and how well they support their work. It's nearly unheard of. Can't wait to see what they're up to with this.
@UltimateOtaku91 Its actually more ambitious according to Sean. The Planet is bigger then our real world Earth, has multiple biomes, has zero loading screens as in its all seamless and it has a realistic scale for things so mountains for instance are as big if not bigger then are real world mountains. There is random generation that is a more advanced version of the engine NMS uses as well. It honestly sounds incredible and the reveal trailer shown looked amazing.
@Enuo Why? Hello Games have only been able to do what they want because they're Indie and right now i doubt MS wants to add any more studios.
@DennisReynolds I stand corrected then, sounds pretty darn impressive and will take people years to see everything the planet has to offer. So is the entire map randomly generated? so people will get different starting biomes or resources etc.
@UltimateOtaku91 Its like NMS in that its randomly generated but everyone will see the same thing though i'm not 100% if its all randomly generated or only partially.
This is the first I've heard that it's a survival game, which is... disappointing... nothing makes my eyes glaze over faster than to hear "crafting system" about a game.
This article just reminded me that I've had No Man's Sky in my backlog since September 2020. I should definitely get around to playing it soon, at least before the current year ends.
I hope hello games make single player games with its procedural generation engine but rather than a lot of planet, just make 1 earth equivalent planet with it's biomes, I think it will be amazing
I hope they get to make a great new game nothing but respect by how they kept the game up and improved so much on it.
I hope this is as good as no man's sky. I really liked that game a lot and the amount of work they put in to make it what it is now was stunning. And then adding the ps5 upgrade for nowt. It's a day one purchase for me if its a good game.
I’m not really into the survival genre, but good on them. Looking forward to it coming out barren, then the studio using sales of the bad version…to make a good version!
Looking forward to patch 13.1 in 2026.
Really looking forward to this. NMS is one my favorite chill games and this looks to possibly fit that mold as well.
Ohhh very exciting! I FINALLY just bought No Man's Sky and am sooo stoked to dig in.
If it ends up like I'm thinking, I'm most excited for the more explorer-y/scouting aspect. I would to just hop and find and discover random nice looking spots name them leave a small hut and/or supplies behind and comeback later to find a more intrepid person(s) have created a small little community.
Hopefully they learned their lessons from NMS and the game launches in a great state from the start. I spent well over 200+ hours in the game before the first huge game changing update. Had the game that exists now was what we got upon launch it could have easily been my most played game with with a few 1000 hrs played.
Lost me at multiplayer. Really wish these guys would make a third Joe Danger. They were brilliant games.
